Dear Hiring Professional,
I am pleased to present my resume in hopes of being considered for the currently open elementary position at your school.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University with a Science teaching major. Additionally, I completed a full year teaching internship in a 2nd grade classroom in the Detroit Public School District. In January of 2014, I received my Elementary Integrated Science Certificate, which provided me with the ability to focus on teaching science in grades K-8. I continued to receive by Michigan Provisional Certificate in May of 2014 that allows me to teach all subjects K-5. I continued to receive my Master of Arts in Educational Technology, which I obtained in May 2019.
As you will find in my resume, I have had a vast number of teaching experiences that each, in their own way, shaped me into the teacher that I am today. These experiences have allowed me to not only work with elementary school students, but lower middle school students as well. Specifically, these past years I have been a full-time second grade teacher at Deerfield Elementary in Rochester Hills. As a result of my master’s program, I strive to implement engaging, technology-based lesson plans into my classroom that promote self-learning. I am also a strong believer in developing lessons centered around student collaboration and expressing creativity. With this mindset, I have become proficient at creating standard-based, hands-on, and engaging units that accommodate all learners and focuses on the students having to challenge themselves.
I am a firm believer that the ability to inspire and motivate young children plays a monumental role on the early development of their character. This, in turn, fuels my drive to be an engaging and dynamic teacher both in and out of the classroom. I have also found that every child beholds a natural curiosity, which lends to their continual yearning to learn and ask questions. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to feed this innate curiosity and guide them to reach their full potential. Therefore, I pride myself on my ability to motivate and inspire students through stimulating and enjoyable lessons so they become inspired and strive to take learning into their own hands. Throughout my teaching experiences, I continually look forward to being a positive role model in my school community. With great confidence, I believe that I would be a great asset to your school. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. Please do not hesitate to ask if there is anything else you might need from me.
Sincerely,
Jaymie D. Epstein
